Your Own Backyard is Michael Gillan Maxwell’s personal website dedicated to visual art, creative writing, reviews, culinary arts, social commentary, and general ranting and raving.

Michael Gillan Maxwell is a writer and visual artist in the Finger Lakes Region of New York state. He writes short fiction, poetry, songs, essays, lists, recipes, and irate letters to his legislators. A teller of tales and singer of songs, he’s prone to random outbursts and may spontaneously combust or break into song at any moment.

Maxwell is the author of The Part Time Shaman Handbook: An Introduction For Beginners, published by Unknown Press 2015.
